A new update for Jet Warrior is on the way and will be available later tonight bringing along a number of really fun new features and a number of art improvements.

This new update includes an updated bomb model with a new spike and visual effects. The bombs spark when they collide with objects and can be thrown or dropped spike first to stick them into objects. This means the bomb is now a lot more powerful and useful than it used to be. It’s a lot of fun. This new art also gave a chance to add some animation to the game. The spike extends when you withdraw the bomb. It is also now required to say “SHING!” whenever you withdraw a bomb. Seriously, there is a bug that causes the game to be a lot less cool if you don’t do this. The bomb textures and model is still a work in progress so it will see another update before the final release.
Beyond the bomb updates a number of other fun updates have made it into this update. A new gravity system has been added that causes the asteroids to stay in a ring around the planet. The planet has also been updated with a new shader that allows the planet to be dynamically generated based on a mix of textures and heating simulations. This shader is relatively old however and will be seeing an update in the future to make it even more awesome!
