Now, please know that the version you had before this was technically an early version of alpha 4, and not actually alpha 4. Regardless, with this, the second last alpha (hopefully) is now available to you all now.
This release contains patches added to the game's already existing content. And while a fair amount of them aren't exactly interesting, they are very needed. I'll list them here so that you get an idea on what I fixed up.
Patches
-Toriel's Home is slightly renovated. The place is looking a little nicer now, props are better scaled and a carpet has been added.
-Toriel's goodbye is improved. Originally she just ran away, and that was due to a slight bit of laziness on my end. Toriel is now animated and gives a hug to the active character before walking away. I managed to figure out how to do this after I made the original scene but just never actually went back to do it. Until now.
-Papyrus has been toned down. I'll be honest, I should of known that just because the dev can beat it doesn't always mean the difficulty is reasonable. So I've toned his attacks down based on watching my friends play.
-SOUL mode change animation. When your SOUL is affected by a new mode for example blue mode (gravity), you will now be treated to a 5 second animation of your SOUL changing color/colour. This will only show once per battle.
An Area 4 sneak peak is available too. Although what you'll see there is of course subject to changes.
By the way, I personally have not tested preserving SAVE FILES. I would guess it works but I cannot guarantee that it will. Just try loading your save and see if you crash or not. If you don't, you are good to go.
Thank you all so much for your interest in this fan game. There is a lot planned.
To clear up any confusion on how I'm going about naming these:
Alpha: The game is beatable, but not winnable. You win when you reach an ending, right? Well you cannot get there yet, so it's not winnable. But you can beat what is available in the alpha, so it's beatable. This is alpha.
Beta: The game is winnable. But not finished. There is a way to get yourself to an ending, but the game isn't done being developed. This is usually the final stage before I can call this thing "complete".
