So it would seem as though I have some sort of odd habit where I make an update, then I disappear for a few months, then I re-appear to make an update, and rinse-and-repeat.
Either way, an update! Here, have some screens!
So, as you can see in these screens, I’m too lazy to crop out the window title. In actuality, it’s that the game has gotten a bit of a makeover visually. However, there’s some behind the scenes changes not visible here, so I’ll detail them!
Upcoming Changes:
Added a day counter! It increments up every 24 minutes!
Changed saving to use a file… file, instead of an .ini file.
Doesn’t matter to you, but I went through the code in the main game portion, and cleaned it up by commenting code and putting them into groups.
Adding onto the above, I renamed some objects so that I know what things are. Helps out a lot!
Fixed the game’s title being “SuriveZombies” instead of the better sounding “SurviveZombies.” If you liked it how it was before, sorry. Looks better.
Changed how survivors work; Instead of getting 1-5 survivors each check randomly, you get 1-3, and you can now only have a maximum of 10 survivors. Should make the game harder.
A visual makeover. Been a long time coming. This will basically make things looks nicer, and the wooden panels are part of the background, instead of just randomly existing on top of the background.
An options menu on the title screen. Currently, the only option is for how big you want your screen to be (Normal Size, 1.5x Size, 2x Size, 3x Size, etc.)
Changed the perspective object to be more centered in the screen, making the faux 3D look a lot nicer.
So far, those are all the changes coming in the update. I’ll probably have more. Or not! Hey, it hasn’t even come out yet!
SomeGameDeveloper, signing off!
