Exciting news followers:
On discovery of the free 3D sculpting software “Sculptris” ( I know, I’m about 2 years late to the party XD ) and a growing desire to branch off into 3D game development, I’ve begun taking tentative steps towards actualizing a 3D sequel/re imagining of a popular game entry of mine in the past: “Nightmare Fishing Tournament”!
Now make no mistake, as you can infer from these initial screen shots I am very much a beginner on the 3D front. I’ve toyed with software like Maya and Blender and the like over the years, even dabbled a tiny bit in Unity, having carried completely through on no full project to date. That being said, I’ve found it hard to shake the idea of a 3D NFT game, and have been pouring over tutorials on how to make it a reality as of late.
What I propose would be a genuine remake of the original, featuring elements I didn’t get to add the first go around. I’ve also seen many let’s plays and now see ways that certain aspects could have been handled better. I would be in charge of the visual elements, and would rely on a programmer to handle the actual code side of the project. It would be done in Unity and released whenever it was done, with the possibility of add-ons and bonus content to be introduced as/if it became available ( things like additional fish types, new gear, bait, ect )
Currently the game is not even in “pre-production”. There’s even the possibility it won’t make it that far, however I feel strongly that it could be a fun concept and will use it as the basis on which I work and practice my skills as I develop into a 3D artist/animator. No release date is planned and no co-developer is signed on. The idea is I prove the concept with images like the test fish seen in this post and use the models along with the 1st game as a means of advertising the position to potential programmers when the time comes ( to fish for one, essentially ;) )
Progress on my current big project, “Fathoms of Fear” is moving forward, but the programmer on that project has a limited amount of time he can devote to the work, so it will be moving slowly. In this down time ( for me at least ) I’m taking the opportunity to focus on honing and developing 3D skills to bring the idea of Nightmare Fishing 3D to life. More news as it develops.
