Hey everyone,
Another week has passed and this time, the month of Christmas has come. Cue all the fun Christmas confetti and lovely dinners coming ahead. Now obviously any plans you and your families may have will likely be interrupted by the dreaded C-Virus, but don't let that spoil your festive cheers. I've got a cute little penguin inside my home, so at least that's something.
Anyway, like I mentioned last week, this week I'm going to be talking about my plans for Niravasi as a product. Now I should preface this by saying that a LOT of this information is not finalised and/or confirmed. I've still got to get the nitty-gritty sorted out and the game is still in a state where it's not quite ready for a Public Demo release just yet. But anyway, let's go ahead and look into what the plans for Niravasi
will be.
The Plans: NIRAVASI the Game

"Cool Map."
So first thing's first, my plan for Niravasi is to be a commercial release, which is a big departure from BLANK (which was a free product for anybody to pick up and download).
A big part of this decision comes from my financial living situation, as well as my prospects and ambitions for future development. When I created BLANK back in 2016, my desire with that game was to create a free game that showed off my potential as an RPG developer. What started OFF as a fan-game eventually became its own beast, with its own story, characters, mechanics and music. But because it was the very first game I produced, I didn't want to attempt to sell it as a product. In addition to using the RPG Maker VX Ace stock Sound Effect Library, there were a lot of plugins I used that could not be used in Commercial releases.
But for Niravasi and Aetherside, I believe the quality of my work since BLANK has increased dividends and feel comfortable being able to say that my work is at the stage where I feel I can sell it for a modest price. Now obviously, I'm not going to want to sell these games for the price of most AAA games at this age. I'm looking for more a price range of around £5-10, but again, this will be finalised at a later date.
In the meantime, I've been thinking about starting a Kickstarter page for the game, with the stretch goal being not too large, but something at least to put confidence in the people around me. Because I am currently employed, I've been consistently looking for work in the Graphic Design sector, but because of the C-Virus, it's been tricky. I want something to help stem the tide financially until a find a position and I'm hoping Niravasi's gonna be just that.
But again, I have to stress that this is all rough ideas and nothing's been finalised. I still have to get things sorted out with the game's OST, licensing and other stuff to ensure Niravasi as a game can be launched online with little-to-no hassle at all. I certainly don't want to have to launch another emergency patch immediately after I release BLANK to the masses.
Anyway, that's all for now. Next week, I'm going to talk a bit the culture of the humans of Niravasi and how I'm going to be tackling sensitive topics with this game. Be warned, as some of the content I'll be talking about may (or may not) be disturbing for some of you. Until next Tuesday, everyone!
Kind regards,
King Sangos
