Hey everyone,
First off, I'd like to apologise for the delay with this Devlog's release. Today was fairly busy in regards to work on Niravasi AND I've been playing Destiny 2's new mission and completed a Solo Flawless run of it already. It's about 2am for me right now and I really should be heading to bed. In spite of this, I felt it important to inform you about some new developments with Niravasi at the moment and what you can expect in the coming weeks. With that out of the way, let's quickly go over some details.
No Original OST for Demo Build
So like I mentioned earlier in my Niravasi Devlogs, the game's soundtrack will be once again composed by the incredibly talented Stygian White, who wrote the OST for BLANK. However, I have some bad news to tell you regarding the state of the OST for the game's demo build. It was discussed and decided that an OST for the current build of the game is not feasibly possible, and will have to be a matter that is attended to at a later date. However, this will not affect the Demo's release and Crowdfunding campaign as Stygian's given me permission to reuse the BLANK OST for use in the Niravasi Demo, so that the demo will not fall under any legal issues when it's released online. I can confirm that I've done my best to ensure the songs being used will fit the environments within the Demo.
No OSX Support
Unfortunately during the playtesting phase, it was found that my current setup cannot deploy or produce an OSX version of Niravasi, meaning that you will not be able to run the Niravasi Demo on Apple Devices. This is really disappointing on my end and was something I had hoped to include, but you can be sure that I'll do my best to be sure that an OSX version will be possible in the near future. For the meantime, you will only be able to run the game as a .exe file (alternatively, you can use an emulation program like WINE to act as a workaround to run .exe's on Apple Devices).
Playtesting Going Well
I can happily confirm that a number of players have gained access to the current Demo Build and are reporting that the game runs smoothly, without big game-breaking issues. An issue with one certain plugin was discovered where certain audio files were not being detected, but I'm hoping to have this remedied before publicly releasing the demo for everyone to have a looksie. There may also be a few typos here and there, but things are going well so far!
Cool Promotional Art
You may have noticed that amazing artwork I included in the Devlog page. This is the inked-in version of artwork produced by an incredibly talented artist called Savistuff on Fiverr. I recently commissioned them to create a fully detailed piece of art to use for Niravasi's Crowdfunding page, as well as other promotional materials. I'm incredibly happy with how this looks so far and I really cannot wait to see what the final version looks like later on in the week!
That's all I have to announce for this week. My next plan right now is the make sure that players can get from start-to-finish in the game's Demo Build, as well as begin work on the game's trailer and other marketing material to use for the Crowdfunding page. Here's hoping that I'll be able to give me news on as the days go by.
I hope you enjoyed this read and I'll talk to you again next week!
Kind regards,
Sangos
