No more freeroam


Okay I have been holding off making this post for a few months now. At least a couple of months ago I released a free roam test in BGE. I thought it was pretty good, but it was WAY BUGGY. Something that I was having a problem with was the textures of the animatronics. I couldn’t get the textures that I have on the animatronics to go into BGE and this was bugging me because I want the game to be as realistic as it can get. Another problem that I was having with the free roam test is just lag in general. The map that I made and mainly the animatronics has a crap ton of vertices (now it has even more than the free roam test I have put a lot of detail into it) for example in the free roam test if you try to touch one of the two animatronics that I had, the test would freeze or get extremely laggy because of the large amount of vertices that I have. Also having the animatronics chase you would be a problem because they would probably bump into each other with the map that I have. So with all this I decided to use gamemaker studio, yes I know some crappy FNAF games are made with this engine, but it’s the closest thing I could get to clickteam. I plan to try my best of course and not be lazy. Most of the scenes that you will see would be made up of images and this is good because I could add effects in my photo editor to make the images more realistic. Another thing I could do is add more mechanics to the game like this springlock mask idea that I had. This would also push the game closer to release because I don’t have to do all this coding to make the animatronics follow the player. Now this doesn’t mean that freeroam is out of the picture. If I make sequels to the game I will probably have one game made in UE4 and be free roam, but to do this I would probably need someone like Angus Games to help me because I don’t know crap about UE4.

The Boy is Rigged

Well I got some motivation after finding the files on my pc.

So a wip I guess. Gonna make the main character a 50s greaser this time.

Per suggestion of a friend to make it so there wasn't too much of one material. He has jeans now.

The Base of the head is done now I gotta add things like the eyes, teeth, hair, etc.

So now I gotta put the robot bits in and textures and I will have the head done.
