Like the title states I haven’t made much progress in a long time. I actually haven’t even looked at the project in some time. I don’t plan on dropping this project I just find myself working on other things alot. I guess I’m getting some kind of block. When I work on an engine I get to a point where I don’t know what to do next or just stop and get bored I guess. I didn’t want to say “get bored” because I don’t truly believe that’s what it is but I can’t think of a better way to explain it.
Once I do start back on this project I will try to implement what I’ve learned in my time away if I feel it would do some good.
As a side note I played Demon’s Crest not long ago(probably my favorite SNES game ever.) and am working replicating the platforming. I’m not sure if I’ll use this for anything but its coming along fairly well. I have the basic movement, wallclinging, hovering and slopes(I used Stoz Studio’s slope code which I didn’t really want to do honestly) with everything seemingly bug-free. Platforming-wise that is, if not everything, about 90% of the game if the crests aren’t taken into account.
Well anyway I will eventually get back to work on Genesis but it may take some time.
