No Sleep Till Beta

We’ve been wrapping up Alpha for the month of September with just a few additions. Several more are to come, but here is what’s been implemented in convenient bullet-point fashion!

  • New art for Platform 5, with some new level design changes.

  • Trains on Platform 5 will collide with players and deal damage.

  • Main platforms will flash brighter when landed on, and bounce a little bit too.

  • Additional FX added to explosions, making explosions more explosiony.

  • Level thumbnails updated.

  • Moon Base Bravo art updated.

  • Tweaks to bomb physics done for the meantime.

  • Pause menu updated

  • Camera zooms in to victorious player at the end of a round.

As you can see, most of these are just aesthetic polish, which is good! That means that we’re done with major mechanical adjustments to Bombasm. Next month we’ll be adding parallax camera, auto-patching for Beta, minor design and technical tweaks, and possibly dynamic 2D lighting (maybe).

The new Beta version will be on sale at a discount by the end of October on the gamejolt marketplace and itch.io.

Cheers governor,
Nick (Social Ninja)

EDIT: Artist Joshua Gong whipped up some feisty new art for Beta. Real cool, but hidden to your eyes for now ;)
