You should never give up so easily, because that will get you nowhere. I've seen so many talented and creative people with big, and actually reachable, dreams give up before they even started.
I get that demotivation can be a pain, or sometimes what you're trying to achieve isn't worth it in a given context. But you can't give up so quickly, especially before you've made a name for yourself. Don't be surprised when you don't get anywhere with that attitude. Everyone has their downtime, but if you stay dedicated and believe it will pay off, I can assure you that you'll get something in the end.
Don't believe me? Just look at me. I have 1,000 followers, and that number is getting bigger every day, all because I managed to pull through. There will always be parts you don't want to do, but you just have to do them to get where you want to go. There were many times I almost gave up, but thankfully I pulled through, which I can definitely say paid off.
This isn't specifically about finishing a game, but more about your hobby in particular, whether you're a developer, musician, artist, or something else. It's okay to sometimes scrap a game or drop an idea for a piece of art you wanted to make, that's not what I meant. What I did mean is, if you never bothered to heat up the pan, don't be surprised if your food is cold, because that's all you're going to get if you don't give it an honest shot.
