Hello!
As (probably) everyone knows, an official sequel of sorts to Undertale was just released. I won’t go into detail because everyone should play it blind for themselves, but I thought I’d let you know if it affects our game in any fashion. It may, but only positively. We don’t have to rewrite anything luckily but we can learn from the neat features and ideas present in it.
Now for a perfect segway into the main topic of this devlog ;)
Deltarune has a run (or walk faster) feature. A few months back, we slapped one in UTY as well. This was done to make backtracking or speedrunning (if that’s your thing) much more enjoyable. If you want to experience the game exactly like UT then you don’t have to use it, but it will come in handy for those that want to find all the secrets and talk to every NPC.
Let’s see what it looks like in action, shall we? (Running and animation speed may change)
Oh yeah, there’s a neat area in that gif too.
For this game we wanted to add sprite animation to different characters and objects to bring the world to life a little. Let’s look at some more examples of our artist’s amazing work!
A good bird taking to the skies:
A slippery salesman being stylish:
A whale ready to do his job:
We also have neat environmental animations:
And so much more that we can’t share (or were too lazy to find lol)
Well, I’ve gotta go for another two months! We’re still in Snowdin due to last devlogs engine switch + redesigning some boring rooms we had, but we’re coming up with a ton of super fun stuff that we can’t wait to implement!
Thanks for reading as always!
