Howdy, folks!
I’d like to announce that the DF team is now looking for three new artists! We’re looking for determined and talented individuals to join the team and assist with creating new assets for DF, as we don’t want to keep recycling Undertale/Deltarune assets. We’ve begun replacing some of the old assets already, but we’d like some new members to help speed up the process.
If you’re interested, the three new positions we have open are:
Tile/Overworld Artist
Your role would be helping with the creation of new tilesets for areas in the game, as well as producing overworld sprites for buildings, props, etc.
Battle Sprite Artist
Your role would be designing the black-and-white battle sprites for enemy encounters in the game. Currently most of the enemies are from Undertale, so a huge plus would be the ability to help come up with new original monsters for the game!
Promo Artist
Your role would be producing promotional artwork for the game, such as the header and thumbnail images for the GameJolt page, as well as promo art for major multiplayer updates. These will be some of the first things new players see when finding this game, so they really need to pop!
If you’re curious about what it’s like to work on our team, we’re relatively laid-back, so you won’t be swamped with a pile of work to do on a regular basis. That being said, work is still expected to be completed in a timely fashion when it is given out, and progress updates are a must. We’re a small team so communication is vital!
Being on Discord is a requirement. You’ll need to join the DF Public Discord, then private-message RickyG with your application along with examples of your work. If you get the position, you’ll be invited to join our team discord, where you’ll be given tasks to do when new assets are needed. Depending on your role you might not get tasks often, but the expectation is that you’ll always be willing and ready when you do receive one.
Your application should include:
Your name and the position you’re applying for.
A brief description of yourself, telling us things like how long you’ve been a part of the Undertale community, how long you’ve been creating sprites/artwork, how you discovered Don’t Forget, etc. Basically anything you think we should know about you.
Your reason for wanting to join the DF team and what you can bring to the game.
If you’ve helped with other Undertale-related projects before, list what they were and what you helped with.
And of course, recent examples of your work!
Preferrably we’d like your application to be sent as a Word or Note document rather than typing it out directly, but either way is still accepted. We’ll be accepting applications until Saturday, the 22nd of December, so try to get your application in as soon as possible!
With that all being said, thank you for your interest in the game, and we look forward to speaking with you!
