Official Demo releasing July 26th! + PIXEL ARTISTS WANTED!


Heya Fallers! T.N. Newton here, back in town after a week of vacation, giving you and update on the status of the game and its upcoming official demo (which will be three times longer than the current, very short “playable sample” build!). Right now the game is roughly 20% finished. During the next month I’ll be continuing to work on the second and third dungeons along with extensively playtesting to find/fix bugs and balance issues. I may even put out an open call for beta testers who can help me with this process. And once all that is done…

The official demo containing about 30% of the completed game will be released on July 26th, 2016, the same day as the official Gravity Falls Journal #3 and Choose Your Own Adventure books!

Additionally I’m temporarily and tentatively announcing the full game’s release date as sometime during the month of December 2016. I know that feels like a long time away, but with how things are currently progressing as well as my own schedule, unfortunately right now I find it highly unlikely that I’ll be able to finish the entire game any sooner than that.

However, I will say that the main obstacle facing the game currently is the situation regarding custom assets. While I’m an artist/animator professionally, I have no skills whatsoever in pixel art, meaning I’ve had to rely on others to create any graphics for the game that aren’t taken directly from the original PinesQuest. In other words pixel artists who can create new assets for this game in a timely manner are in EXTREMELY HIGH DEMAND right now, and if there’s any out there who’d be willing to help out and join the PQ2D team, your contributions would be utterly INVALUABLE to the game and seeing it finished before the end of the year!
