Winter is the easiest season to think of the negative for. It's cold, lonely, and empty. This movement depicts the sense of desolation one might feel when looking into the dark nothingness of a freezing blizzard.
The general feel of the piece is also representative of the process of hypothermia. The cold saps away all of your warmth, leaving you hollow. However, there seems to be hope. Some flicker of warmth still inside that begins to fight back against the cold. But... just as the warmth seems to be winning the fight, cold harsh reality sets in that the warmth was never there to begin with. Your body was hallucinating the warmth in response to the overwhelming power of the cold. And the winter freeze takes its victim in the end.
. . .
Hm? No, I did not ever take a creative writing class... No, I'm not an English major either... I told you last time I'm fine!
...Anyways...
I think I'm probably most proud of how this one came out. It just kinda happened and I was along for the ride.
But what do you think? Poll Time!
Also, as you probably noticed, the beginning (and ending) piano part is paired with some low brass to make the beginning section. I'm debating whether I like it or not, but let me know what you think about it!
Suffice to say, Autumn has a pretty big hurdle to leap.
Next post will be the Autumn template Saturday!
Thanks for stopping by!
