1 - jesse is a volunteer to urbanshade after they offered him to be a subject in the “giving humans gills” test, in which his entire criminal record of massive amounts of theft (or some other crime. Leaning to theft though) could be cleared if he participated in it. this caused jesse to be experimented on in the same way as sebastian, along with some of the testing done on eyefestation

2 - same lore from these two posts . the urbanshade segment of the lore is the same in option 1

i personally think 1 is far less convoluted but. I want your guys’ opinions. jesse might also go through ANOTHER name change (maybe rowan dominick? a mix of his new and old names. Idk. Shrugs.)
