The fangame Cake is more than just a simple reimagining of Dormitabis. Cake is almost literally a critique of Dormitabis (the original), not at the gameplay level (because the gameplay is really fine), but more on the story. Believe me, I really have a significant hatred for the storyline of the original game. Personally, I hate the story of that game, because back then I almost had to endure a serious assault when I was little, and seeing that in a fangame without any logic behind it or important message, I found it horrible! The only thing that really stuck with me was the famous last night, the cakebear night which... traumatized me. I don't know why, maybe the atmosphere, maybe because the cameras were outside, or just... Cake Bear, because even though I hated the game's story, I loved the design of the animatronics, especially Cake Bear; it had that perfect mix of normal and not at the same time...
and so a long time ago I promised myself to create a better story, making more classic, with strong message
a story without all this crap, without these really horrible and inhuman things for me!
Well, now it's time to talk about the cake story. The story of this fangame is really simpler, yet at the same time complex. The only thing I can tell you is... that the Purple Guy is really different from the one in Dormitabis. In Cake, Mr. Carl Afton is a believer and a very good friend of the engineer Marcus Emily. Together, they created the Cake Bear Diner, a small rundown restaurant whose sole purpose is to bring joy to children with physical or mental disabilities.
Carl Afton is the complete opposite of Garvey, a man with a good heart, respectful, who wants to bring peace and joy; he is literally the most positive human, but consequently the most mentally damaged. A tragic event is going to happen to him, an event where everyone close to him will hate him. An event that happened on his birthday I can't say more, but know that the villain in this fangame is clearly not Carl Afton.
That's all I can say, the gameplay is also going to be quite different, believe me, you shouldn't just look at the surface.
Anyway, sorry for this long post, but I felt it was important for me to talk about it.
