Okay, so people have been having trouble with getting through the start of zone 3, so I'll leave a solution for people that can't read the sign, PLEASE ONLY READ THIS IF YOU CAN'T INTERACT WITH THE SIGN AT THE START OF ZONE 3.

At the start of Zone 3, before the sign, do these button inputs:
UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT CANCEL SELECT
