On today's episode of "Greek myth characters you didn't know much about" we have...

THE MINOTAUR!

You may think you know about this guy, but there are many things you don't! For example, do you know how tragic he actually is? He was born because Poseidon was pissed at king Minos for not sacrificing a bull for him, and told Aphrodite to make his wife, Pasifae, fall in love with that same bull.

After it's birth, Minos was furious. His master artisan Dedalus was the one with the idea to make a labyrinth where the minotaur would be raised a monster. 14 people from Athens, 7 young men and 7 young women, would be sent to this labyrinth after Athens lost a war to Crete.

Many claim that Theseus, apart from being a strong demigod, also used the name "Asterios", which was the minotaur's name before he was sent to be a beast. This distracted the minotaur as he remembered the warmth he had only as a baby. In this moment, Theseus hits the final blow on him.

Asterios is a very tragic character who, as many other Greek creatures, is portrayed as a monster for doing the only thing it was taught to do.

What are your opinions on this? Let me know in the comments! Also, tell me who should I do next if you want!
