One Cool Video

Dear shipmates,

Just found a cool video on youtube by a new Floating Sandbox fan (The Game Tester Ultima), and felt compelled to share it out immediately.

I find this video particularly interesting because it showcases some aspects of the simulation that are different than the "ordinary sinking" that is at the historical heart of Floating Sandbox.

This video is a reminder of the essence of a physics simulation, and of the reason why I feel driven at improving it over and over again during all these years: everything you see in the video is *not* scripted - there is no code that instructs the Eiffel tower metal to burn, or which causes the tower to tilt and fall to the ground the way it does, or which causes burning particles to suddenly snap and fly in the air. Everything you see is, instead, purely the result of intrinsically trivial calculations. A strong testament to the beauty of nature and to the power of the human mind at abstracting mathematical formulae out of observed behaviors.

Sorry for the philosophical rant, and talk to you all soon, hopefully showcasing more cool stuff!

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.
