Yeah, so, I did some thinking, and I feel like I owe you guys a proper apology.
As a budding game designer, a content creator, and just as a person, blue-balling you guys like this was pretty shitty, gotta admit. I, as somebody diagnosed with clinical depression, can find it pretty tough to muster up the motivation to work on something that, in my eyes, just isn’t going anywhere anymore. I felt that I was stacking too much on my plate and that I couldn’t fulfill not just your hype, but my own hype towards the project - you know what I mean? No matter how it turned out, I felt I would be disappointed somehow. Oh, I wish I did this differently, I wish I had gotten rid of that… That sort of thing. Maybe I’m too sensitive to criticism or something, I dunno. Point is, I burnt myself out on my own hopes for the project. I do appreciate what I did get done - I do have some pride in this project, even if it is a Fuckboy’s game.
That said, the game won’t be continued here or by me - if you guys want to, go ahead, I don’t really care. The thing is about being a game designer - and especially, a college student, money matters. It might be a selfish thing to say, but money makes the world go round, and ad revenue from a game I can’t legally charge for can only do so much. That’s another reason I dropped this - I’d like to make something I have more of an incentive to work on beyond just wanting to. I’m sure some of you might not understand, and that’s fine - maybe someday you’ll understand my perspective. But putting aside that topic, here’s my final gift to y’all:
Here’s a link to the most recent (massive air quotes) build of the game - the first portion of the Main Game storyline is functional. It might be missing a few voice lines here and there, but it SHOULD work. If you wanna make some kind of LP? Go nuts! I might even watch it. I do like watching playthroughs of my games - even these ones.
So that’s it - for real this time. Enjoy what I got done on this behemoth of a project, and maybe you can get a sense of the scope I had in mind, and maybe you’ll understand why completing it was such a huge fuckin’ task.
