Hello again!
I'm gonna cut to the chase with this one, okay? No foreplay with this one, let's jump straight into it.
State of the Game
I'm gonna be pretty frank. We are in a pretty desperate state as of late when it comes to development of the game.
My computer broke so I've only been able to edit existing sprites on my phone instead of making new ones, the ones we actually need.
All the coders we've gotten as of late have done no work and either left or were fired, so the only main thing we haven't done has been exacerbated.
I and some of the rest of the team have had to deal with mental health issues, mainly depression, leading to less work being done due to lack of motivation.
So yeah, kind've between a rock and a hard place as of late. But my comp will be repaired soon, so I'll be able to do spritework then, and at least I have learned how to handle my depression so I'll be able to do sprites more often.
But that still leaves us with the need for:
Coders
We are in desperate need of coders. We're so desperate we've come full circle and moved to CTF as our engine (cue crowd booing).
We're looking for 4 coders total.
2 for battles (engine will be supplied),
1 for overworld (will need to have or make an engine)
, and 1 for ACT 1 (will need to make engine)
.
If you wanna apply for a battle coder, what matters most is that you can make good attack patterns, as an engine for the battles will be supplied for you.
If you wanna apply for an overworld coder, what matters is that you have or can make your own engine for them, as one will not be provided
ACT 1 is a platformer, so of you wanna apply for an ACT 1 coder, what matters is you can that you can make an engine for a platformer and it feels good to control.
Preferably you should be able to do multible, if you are, the likeyhood we'll accept you is much higher.
To apply, message me either here on GJ or Discord (tag is game desc), or more preferably, apply in our Discord Server so another team member can check the application if I'm offline.
Luckily, we do sort've have one coder as of now...
Say hello to @Epoli , at long last the two Revenge projects that have "Shattered" in their names have sort've merged.
Now the the reason I say we sort've have one is that Epoli will only be supplying the engine and overlooking the rest of the coders and fixing their code if needed, he won't be actively making content for the game.
Think of him more of a supervisor than a coder. Not to downplay his importance, because he is important, as I have no clue if someone's code is good or not, while he has experience with disecting sloppy coding... coughcoughcraked

So yeah, Epoli has been a huge help in trying to keep this game active, so go follow him and his newest game, StoreShit Sans Fight, ignore the shitpost-y vibe of the title, it's an actually good looking game and he is a really good coder.
Well that's just about everything, no teaser this time because this was a spur of the moment post and we didn't prepare anything for it.
Be greatful, at least we aren't cancelling the game! (yet)

When first coming up with the concepts for this game, 500 followers was the dream number that I never expected to hit but always hoped for.
I cannot thank you all enough for your continued patience throughout the rocky development of this game.
