PA2020 Snippet: The Soundtrack


Hi guys!

I've had a lot of questions about the soundtrack of POPGOES Arcade 2020 Edition, and I know a lot of you enjoyed the music of the other Arcade games (the videos for the songs on YouTube have over 140,000 views!) so I thought I'd give some additional information, and a new track, for you guys today.

I can confirm that POPGOES Arcade 2020 Edition has over ten brand new songs, and each of them are around 2 minutes long! Compare that to POPGOES Arcade 2, where each song was roughly 30 seconds long, or the original POPGOES Arcade with songs that averaged at only 15 seconds!

Three of these songs are remixes/references of tracks from the original POPGOES Arcade, like the Castle Theme, which you can listen to on the GJ page right now, but the others are entirely original, like the Menu/Trailer Theme. I'm super happy with all of the songs on this soundtrack!

I will admit that the production of these songs is weak, as I have never really learned how to create music on a professional level. I've only really developed my composition skill. So if you're fine with the chiptune sounds, then you should still love what I've made.

Now that being said, I have a new song! The Battle Theme for POPGOES Arcade 2020 Edition is now up on the Game Jolt page for you to listen to. This song will play whenever you fight a normal enemy. Let me know what you think!

The texture for the show stage (floor and backdrop) in the pizzeria of POPGOES Evergreen is a massive, seamless hand-painted mural by Turntail. Here's a clearer look at how it looks.

Here's a look at the original storyboard for the intro "cutscene" for myPOPGOES. It was only about a WEEK later that the trailer was released with finished artwork. (2023)

Concept art for a Blake the Badger Youtooz figure was made under my direction only a few months after the Popgoes one shipped.

Unfortunately it seems unlikely that this product will happen now. If it does, a new design will be made for it. (2023)
