Patch Released - 12/2/2022 (Plus news)


-PATCH LIST-

-Fixed an issue causing Mortimer to not spawn

-Fixed an issue with Dippy skipping his jumpscare

-Fixed an issue with the boss not having transitions in the rooms they leave from (Sometimes, not a 100% fix)

-Fixed an issue where phase two of the boss was too fast

-Fixed an issue where Inkblot Face would skip too fast

-Fixed an issue with the boss's phase 1 attic

-The post-mortem spawn sound should no longer play during a Minigame

-The post-mortem spawn sound has been reduced in length

-Added a larger hitbox for Cabin Face's eye

-True Nightmare Should now be possible after internal testing

-Game timers rebalanced

-Loading screens loading bug should be fixed (Not 100%)

-Easter egg odds decreased

-There is a delay now on the attic for when a character enters the room

-Tip screens added/fixed/redone

-Various minute bug fixes (Too long to list)

This version of the game will no longer be updated unless major game-breaking bugs have been reported. For reasoning, read below:


THE CURRENT DILEMMA:

For the past few days of public silence, we have realized working with the game's current MFA is nearly impossible. With each patch we released privately to testers, more bugs would arise. This is due to the game's poor, Frankenstein monster esc coding.

We have gotten the game to a point where it is playable and mostly fair, but a few bugs and balancing issues unfortunately remain and are unfixable. I am embarrassed and disappointed with myself, and also extremely sad with how the game has turned out, but this situation can be fixed. Every programmer on the team has advised me to move forward with having the game recoded from the ground up with a new MFA. However, since the game is, again MOSTLY fair and 100% playable at this point, the current version will be released so as to not keep people waiting for a game we originally released days ago.

In the near future, possibly in late 2022 (or early 2023), we will be releasing a new, updated version of the game which we will call Oblitus Casa 2.0. This recode/slight remaster will feature:

-Better programming

-Smoother gameplay

-Graphic Variation in Post Night (The tunnels)

-Near bug-free releases

-Gamejolt API

-Encrypted Save Data

-And more

I realize this may make some of you angry but we've been pushed to the point where the constant bugs this game has forced on us have given us no choice. I expect criticism and frustration, but sacrifices need to be made in order for us to do what is needed for this game to be in the best state possible.

I'd rather go through with this than stress over what will break next, continue to put my programmers through hell, and make you guys play a poorly coded, constantly unstable game. For now, enjoy the current version for what it is. It should hopefully be much better than it was prior and much more stable even with the remaining bugs.
