I also want to remind you that the Remaster version of the model can be viewed on Sketchfab.

CHAPTER 1: Prototype Phaeton
Phaeton has come a long way, and its journey is far from over. It all started with a homemade version of Phaeton and culminated in a 3D model. Back then, I was a kid deeply obsessed with Beyblade Burst, driven by a burning desire to create my own Bey.
It all began with a prototype in 2018. At the time, this Bey had a different name - Fire Dragon F1. I had to sacrifice a few Beys, dismantling them to create this truly cool monster. Did this prototype win battles? Yes. This bey you not only unique but also was powerful due to the protruding metal elements and its clockwise rotation. By the way, you can see it in the photo.
But as you can understand, homemade beys crafted from improvised materials can’t withstand heavy use for long. Over time, Fire Dragon F1 simply cracked and broke :(
The day it broke, I was really upset because it was my very first homemade bey. However, I knew that sooner or later, this was bound to happen.
CHAPTER 2: Phaeton V1
Some time later in 2019-2020, Trident and a few other beys joined my collection. Eventually, they were used to create the first version of PHAETON. It was an amazing bey that brought a lot of joy.
Thanks to the protruding metal frame, Phaeton's strikes were very powerful. The defense mounted on the metal disc also provided resistance to opponent attacks. In any case, you can see it all in the archival video:
However, over time, its metal frame on the layer couldn’t hold up and cracked, leading to the first version of Phaeton breaking apart :(
This time, I already expected it to crack/break because I understood the pressure the metal was under during the impacts.
CHAPTER 3: God Phaeton V2
Some time later, I added Amaterios to my Beyblade collection, which would eventually become the donor and the base for the layer of Phaeton’s second version. There’s not much to say about the second version, as it wasn’t as powerful compared to its predecessor. As a result, the bey shifted from an Attack type to a Balance type.
CHAPTER 4: God Phaeton V3
Of course, I didn’t want to stay in one place, so I decided to modify the existing version. The layer remained the same, but the bey received a completely different driver and a new color design. I don’t remember how much better this version with the new driver was, but I know one thing for sure, it was the final version of Phaeton in real life.
Unfortunately, the battle videos were deleted forever, and it’s no longer possible to recover them.
As you might guess, over time, it broke. I don’t recall the exact reason or what specifically failed, but that was the end of Phaeton. (The photo shows what I have left of him until 2024. I decided to keep it as a keepsake)
CHAPTER 5: DB Phaeton V4
Sometime after Phaeton broke, specifically in 2021, Vlada Kurenai (my former partner and colleague in the Beyblade field) became interested in drawing Beyblade concepts. I was surprised when she decided to draw the next version of Phaeton, and I was deeply impressed when I saw the concepts for the first time. It truly looked like an independent bey that merged many elements from the previous versions into a cohesive design.
Interestingly, 2021 was also the year I started learning Blender. That’s when I decided to create the first 3D version of Phaeton. As you can see, it didn’t fully match the concept design, but even so, it turned out pretty well.
CHAPTER 6: Phaeton Remake
In 2023, two years after creating the first 3D model, I decided to use my newfound experience in Blender to finally create a 3D model based on the concept. In the end, as you can see, the 3D model turned out exactly like the concept design. However, one issue became apparent, the color design of the concept wasn’t perfect, causing many elements on the bey to blend together. Despite this, I was quite satisfied with the result at the time.
CHAPTER 7: Phaeton Remaster
And here we are in 2024, when, with twice the experience, I decided to completely refine the 3D model. Of course, I couldn’t fix every mistake to perfection, but I’m still happy that Phaeton now looks even more impressive.
CHAPTER 8: What's next?
As I mentioned at the beginning, PHAETON's story is not over. For now, the 3D model and all the related materials will be archived, but I still have one more project I’d like to bring to life. In the future, I want to acquire a 3D printer and recreate PHAETON in real life! Whether it’s just a bey to hold in my hands or a functional one capable of battling others, who knows? Time will tell. But for now..
For now, the story is on pause.
I would also like to thank Vlada Kurenai for providing archival materials. Without her, this article would not exist.
