If you don't know, Piskel is an open-source pixel art creation software that has existed for about 10+ years. It used to have a social feature, but that was killed off around 2022. They did have ads during the social features, but none inside of the editor. When the social features were killed off, the ads were also killed. Good stuff right?
...
You can tell where this is going.
They decided, THIS MONTH of THIS YEAR, they would bring ADS, TO THE EDITOR. To make this more mind-boggling, during the social aspect phase, in their faq they said, and I quote, "With that said, we don't plan to add banners on the editor's interface. We believe the editor should remain a safe zone where you can focus on your creation."
They LITERALLY went AGAINST what THEY THEMSELVES SAID about adding ads to the EDITOR. Oh, and also to add insult to injury, at the same time they launched a version marked for KIDS, which is just Piskel but adless. THAT'S. IT.
I may be over exaggerating, and I am, and yes, most of you have ad blockers anyway, but still, it still annoys me why they would go to such lengths. Though they're not all that bad, yet. I mean they do support ad blockers so take that how you will.
