Acorn is an energetic long ranged attacker , they do little damage, but they can move freely across the y axis, over time they'll evolve into Oak, they do much greater damage, but lose the ability to move freely, and is now locked in place.

Acorn is useful for a full board early game attacker if you're willing to pay the extra 50 sun, Oak is a useful late game unit, comparable to a repeater
