Now that the bulk of the work has been finished for the crafting feature, it’s time for me to move on to the most unpredictable leg of my journey to release the demo update: the part where I go around tying up the many tiny loose ends, polishing the rough edges, and banishing the belligerent bugs.
In my current to-do list there are 15 different items that need to be completed before I can release the demo update (I’ll probably think of more things I need to do though). Some may take 5 minutes, some may take 5 hours, I can never tell. Bugs that I need to fix could be the kind that is easily fixed by adding a single line of code, or they could be the kind that’s tangled up in a web of sticky mess that take hours of “bang-your-head-against-the-wall” work to fix. Hopefully it’s the former.
Like I said, I’ve got a lot of little things I need to finish, but I’m optimistic for this week. One very specific thing that I need to do before the demo update releases is to polish up the “ColoRegion” effect. It’s something that a lot of people really seem to like so I need to make sure it looks as good and works as well as your expectations.
On the next Friday Lookback I’ll be compiling a list of all the changes that will be in the demo update. The demo update won’t be ready by then, but it will give you a good idea of what to expect when it is ready.
Thank you very much for reading,
God bless
