Alcohol poisoning after a night
of drinking one shot after another,
unknown limits inevitably discovered
the next morning.
Each discarded paper taunts
my hazy mind with whispers ofÂ
what could have been,
what should have been.
Nausea overwhelms me
like my unloved drafts overwhelm
overflowing paper bins. They mock
my attempts at keeping down ideas.
Protested today. We ARE out here doing what we can do fight hate.
