Hey, everybody! It's been a while since OVENGLITCH released. After, what, a year? It's finally released to the world! To everyone who downloaded it and liked it, thank you! It means the world to me.

To celebrate, here's a Post-Launch Q&A! Spoiler-y questions will be kept for another section, so proceed with caution!

NON-SPOILER QUESTIONS

Q: Why did you make Pastel Meringue and Currant Cream siblings if they aren't confirmed to be related in canon?

A: I don't know, I just thought it would be cute and cool.

Q: Will there be any updates?

A: Of course! Some patch updates will be on the way if people request for anything to be patched, and of course, the legendary OVERHAUL UPDATE!

Q: Will you make a fangame for Cookie Run: Witch's Castle, Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures and/or Cookie Run Kakao?

A: No. I don't really have any ideas for how a fangame centered around the Darkness infecting these games would turn out. Unless I can turn them into side-stories in the OVERHAUL update.

Q: Can Butter Pretzel Cookie paint me a masterpiece?

A: Unfortunately, Butter Pretzel Cookie is a bit preoccupied inside the Darkness at the moment. Maybe after the apocalypse is over, she can whip up something for you!

Q: Will the fangame ever go back to its Friday Night Funkin' roots?

A: No. Not even a revival mod. If you want to do a fanmade mod for it, just ask me.

Q: What happened to the Cookies that didn't appear?

A: Corrupted off-screen unless stated otherwise.

Q: Can I run it on my Steam Deck?

A: It's surprisingly easy to mod your Steam Deck. I say this because I own one. I might even provide some library assets.

Q: Why doesn't the Darkness have meme-ish qualities like in the leaked storyboards and in the pitch bible for Pibby?

A: It's cringe and I don't like it. It would be better if it was just some kind of standard assimilator rather than... that. Perhaps a more fitting idea for if it represented something from the Internet is if it represented Fandom Toxicity, trying to finally form the "perfect" world for their favorite medias.

Q: Why wasn't Centipede Cookie shown? Not even in a portrait or in a CG?

A: I despise her so I decided to give her the short end of the stick.

SPOILER QUESTIONS [PROCEED WITH CAUTION!]

Q: Why did Lilybell die?

A: To make her assimilation by the Darkness feel like a punch in the gut. Also to explain how she can be an Apex Zombie. And other stuff.

Q: Will Sugar Swan make a future appereance other than appearing at the end of Chapter 8?

A: I wouldn't count on that. But she's in that lake hideout location, plus she's immune to the Darkness so she's gonna be alright, don't worry.

Q: Why is there only 1 battle?

A: I just wanted to add a little bit of variety at one point in the game. The Overhaul Update will have more gameplay styles, like point-and-click treasure hunting, more battles, a maze gameplay style, and other stuff.

Q: No Classic/Runner Minigame??

A: I wanted to add that kind of stuff in the middle of story parts, but I scrapped that idea. Maybe in the Overhaul, it could be unlocked as post-game content?

Q: Why does Scorpion appear for a bit of time in Chapter 4, makes her return in the last few chapters, and gets corrupted in Chapter 8?

A: Listen, she was in the game cover! This was before I fully planned the story so I had to incorporate her somehow. In the Overhaul Update, she won't get said screentime, and if Side-Stories are possible in Ren'Py, she will have her Side-Story.

Q: Any ideas for Cookies you would like to add in the Overhaul Update?

A: I don't want to get into spoiler territory for the update, but Cream Soda, Cherry Cola, Schneeball, Strawberry Stick and Choco Bar fans should look forward to the update.

Q: Any development tidbits/unused content?

A: Hm, let's see...

• Popping Candy and Cream Unicorn were originally going to be part of the main Survivor gang. Of course, Popping Candy did not survive, which made its way onto the final product, but Cream Unicorn would've survived. Whether they survived in the final product or not is up to you.

• One of the original release dates was August 8th. We could've had OVENPIT. Maybe if there's another game coming out at the same time as the OVERHAUL Update, perhaps it could be done again? (Update: This was written before the release date for Into the Pit was changed.)

• Rosemary Cookie would've been the name of Blue Lily Cookie and Lilybell Cookie's mother, but then Witch's Castle happened.
