Progress Report: Febuary 2024


Heya! Dark here!

(By the way I forgot to put this on the game page, so I reposted it here )

Recently, Undertale: Neon hit 40 followers, so thanks for all the support so far! So, what better time to share what the future has in store by sharing some new content or ideas!

Progress Updates

2% done for Ruined Haven overworld. Like rooms, etc.

1% battle encounter completion, the battle system is still being coded currently.

5% boss fight completion, attacks, dialogue, stuff like that

0% final boss


Characters

Recently, Asriel got a redesign!

As you can see, my style has changed quite a bit.

A lot of the characters are still a work in progress so there are not that many of them are done

Malus from Deltarune is also going to make an appearance, but more on that later!

"How do I help work on the game??"

I have had a few people ask this in the past, so I thought I should give an answer. The game is pretty early in development, so I don't need any team members for now. The main thing I'm doing right now is coding, and working on the battle system, so even if I did want team members there would not be much to help work on.

As I said earlier Malus is going to make an appearance in Undertale: Neon in snowdin, though he is going to be a bit more useful than you would expect!

Just like Deltarune, he can combine items or equipment to increase those stats though if you combine two specific items they can give some extra unexpected boosts like increasing the gold you get during battles, or having a small HP boost. Who doesn't want some extra punch to their weapon?

Hey! By the way my burnout is gone, so here is a test room that Im using to test tilesets! Also I have been testing a new battle mechanic called "sparing" that will be accessible in the Mercy menu

Dev Update - April 2024

I finally realized what the theme of the first area is! Expect a lot of high places, stairs, and slide-able waterfalls! Though it still needs a bit more iterations to it.

Finished most sprites for Nubia! Now just run sprites are one of the last things left!
