I've been moving pretty fast lately even without forcing myself to work on the game too much. I'm excited to share that all of the minigames are officially done! They still need major polish, but I plan to take my time and make sure I'm genuinely happy with how they turn out.
Major Changes to the Defend the Office Section:
Thermal Output Meter: There's now a meter that shows how much heat you're giving off. Heat buildup is much slower now, so things feel more manageable.
UI Improvements: Any time you're using the cameras or wearing the mask, your power level will show up directly on the UI, so you don’t need to glance back at the office screens.
Camera System Update: The cameras now serve a real purpose you can use them to flash the Bidybabs and Minireenas, who will either make you give off more heat or drain some of your power if ignored.
Power Balancing: Power usage has been heavily nerfed. Shocks and the fan now use significantly less power than before.
I'm currently in beta testing for this part, but I already know I’ll need to rebalance the heat and power systems further to make things fair but challenging.
New Minigame:
One of the big additions is a new minigame that replaces the springlock section in Night 4. Is MUSICCCCCCC MANNNNN
Inspired by the DJMM minigame in Help Wanted 2, you’ll need to match the music he plays, but with my own unique twist and a revamped layout.
There will also be new threats exclusive to this section so it’s not just about flashing Mini Music Man anymore.
Difficulty System Overhaul:
I’m also working on revamping the difficulty system. Instead of just tweaking values (which honestly felt kind of lazy), different difficulty levels will introduce entirely new mechanics and changes that actually impact gameplay. I can’t say too much yet but trust the process. It’ll be worth it.
Achievement System:
I'm building a fully in-game achievement system, so you won’t need to be connected to GameJolt to unlock anything. This is meant to boost replayability, but I don’t just want basic "beat the minigame" achievements. I’m still brainstorming ideas for it.
Right now, I’m hoping for a late 2025 release, but I’m not setting an exact date yet. I want to make sure everything feels just right.
