Progress Update

When zombieknifer223 joined the team, he originally was just working on the launcher. But eventually he started trying to understand Polystrike’s code and helping me out with programming. Eventually, we both decided that the system was flawed, from the core. We decided to start from scratch, but use the same assets. Now, after 4 months of programming, modeling, and planning, we finally have a date set for this release. We figured it would be fitting to release the update on Polystrike’s first birthday: June 1st.

Here’s a small list of changes to expect:

  • We’re using Photon Unity Networking (PUN) instead of the integrated UNET.

  • Thanks to PUN, servers are no longer handled by the community, meaning they won’t be spotty, laggy, or suddenly go down.

  • Movement will definitely be a lot smoother

  • A heckuva lot less bugs

Thank you all for playing Polystrike, even in its run down form in Build #010. I’m pretty excited for getting this next update released and hope to see you all in-game after this release!
