Project Apocalypse - Pre-Alpha 1.11.0: Full change log


Hey everyone ! Today I release this little update to address some problematic issues, I also changed some things, added a bit of new content and made some optimisations to drastically reduce the package size.


Content:

  • First of all, I made some small changes to the current map with a small new area in the east and a small rework of a part in the pavilion area. This changes are part of the rework I will made to this part of the map in order to fit better with the future game modes.
    You will see more map changes in the few next updates before the bigger update adding an entire new zone to the map (Almost doubling her actual size). This update should come in around 2 months.

  • In this update I also added two sound effects, one when the player get hit by a zombie and another on player death


Changes:

  • (Package) Hugely decreased the package size (~400MB -> ~150MB)

  • (Gameplay) The player have now the ability to swap weapon while he is reloading (swap weapon while reloading obviously cancel the reload)

  • (QoL) Added multiple texts on screen which indicates to the player when he is low on ammos, when is full ammos and when he can't reload at all. Also, ammos count in the UI now appear grayish instead of white when the player have no more ammos

  • (QoL) Added a text on screen which give the precise time left until the next wave

  • (Other) Taking out and putting away a weapon takes now less time (0.3s -> 0.2s)

  • (Other) Changed a bit the look and positioning of the Zombies counter on the HUD


Fixes:

  • Swap weapon while aiming won't make them glitch anymore

  • Fixed a bug which could give an invalid value to the player's FOV making the view completely glitch

  • Fixed a bug in the ammos count that occurred when the player had absolutely 0 ammo

  • Fixed a bug which could let the player shoot while he swap weapon creating errors in the code

  • Equip a Projectile while reloading now cancel the reload (and avoid a bunch of bugs)

  • Fixed multiple other bugs with the reload system

  • Added a small delay before unlocking the ability for the player to close the workbench, which fixes some random issues
