my next "big" game, probably bigger than kkn in terms of coding challenge but not as much as duk battlegrounds (development process will be similar to dbg) but probably as much content
as you can probably tell from the description, its a rougelike beat-em-up heavily inspired by smash bros and stick it to the stickman (check out the demo, its boss) so its at least a mostly original concept for a game i had since project labyrinth 3 games ago
as much as i milk the living piss out of toby as hes already got two of his own games (one of them is bad though we dont talk about twnt here) and as much as i want to make a game with lil duck (that i wont cancel) or maybe, MAYBE if The Horde grows enough carol, i feel like toby fits best with this genre of game, having no straightforward abilities but still has the character to fit a game where you beat the living piss out of everything in your way
think of project labyrinth + duk battlegrounds with that green gremlin spice you guys cant seem to get enough of, this is my summer project, and im sure i got the time and motivation despite driving school bs, i have been conceptualizing a toby beat-em-up for some time now, and tobyware and kkn helped me get back into the thril of game dev (and my natural gift of animating relatively well despite not making a proper animation since 2023 iirc), give the game page a follow and i'll feed you project t slop when i have something to show off, im probably gonna spend most time off the internet to work on project t so i actually get bs done (i cant promise anything, i 100% learn to fly 3 within 1.5 days out of boredom), but i will not try to not cancel this game beforehand
when will i stop using this dumb childrens coding language? idek atp i said that dbg was my last scratch game (thank god it wasnt) but im learning unreal 5 at school next year so thats sure a step up, if i never get to do much with it i will probably move to godot and have to re-learn how to code there and put turbowarp to rest, maybe a pheonix will rise in my place as the guy who made duk battlegrounds
stay tuned for more toby for now though, bros
