In my last devlog video, I mentioned two features I had plans on implementing. Here’s their progress reports:
Carrying objects: Carrying it works, but it’s interactions with the world after being tossed needs fixing.

Wall running: Works for the most part, the transition into the wall run is still rather buggy and only works part of the time

While we’re still a long ways away from actual development, we’re starting to plan out the game’s progression and levels. Our biggested focus will be the prolouge level at the very beginning of the game. It’d be the easiest for a demo player to start with.
There would be two gameplay parts to this tutorial/demo level. The first would Julian going through Jasper High on his first day locating his homeroom. He has to go all over the place because Benji keeps giving him wrong directions, The player is also introduced to Vinny and Cat.
The player would be introduced to platforming via simple obstacles. Maneuvers learned would be to walk, run, jump, slide, etc.

After Julian’s first day of school, he walks home. When he’s in the school parking lot, he finds Quince Vanderson (a notorious pervert) harassing a new girl. Julian, wanting to be a hero, decides to come to her rescue. Quince laughs and commences a short miniboss battle.

The player would then be allowed to use combat, but there’s a catch. They cannot regain any energy in this battle. This means that you run out of attack power very quickly, and this allows Quince to kick Julian’s ass. After defeating Julian, Quince walks away and Julian challenges him to a rematch in the city park. Quince accepts and threatens Julian that he won’t “play around”. The girl that was harassed then aids Julian and befriends him. Her name is Holly Cavia.
