Hey all, welcome to the first devlog for Psychosis Choked Up.!
I'll be honest, there's not as much content as I would have liked to show you guys, but I'll try sqeeze as much out of what we have already. Hopefully you guys aren't too disappointed.
So, where have we been?
5 months have passed since I put the game page up, and our battle theme SERENITY got released.
Development has been slow, to say the least.
As some of you might already know, I cancelled the other games that I was working on due to many different issues.
But one of the things I didn't mention is that it was also so I can put all my focus into directing this game, and I'm also going to use it as an opportunity to learn how to code in Godot!
I'm just starting out, but I'm hoping I can pick it up without too much trouble, since I already have a little bit of coding knowledge due to working with Unreal Engine 5 in college. (I really hate it, its so bad...)
Also, me and our other coder @cassdudette have decided to make a whole new engine for this game, which means new combat mechanics and the like can be implemented!
It may take a little longer for the game to be made, but it hopefully shouldn't be too bad, and it'll ensure that the game can come out at an even better quality.
What content has been made?
Due to the things I mentioned previously, not much has been done in terms of assets or gameplay.
In terms of writing however, a good chunk has already been done. (I'd say about 15-20% has been completed at this point)
What I can show though, is the Papyrus sprite being used for the game!

I wanted to give Papyrus a more refreshed look, giving him a different face shape and baggier clothes.
There is also an animated version of the sprite by our new spriter @thui_rox !

(It's technically unfinished as there are a few fixes and changes I want to do myself to it, that I wasn't able to do before this devlog got released.)
Also, here is the first version of the sprite that had to be scrapped because I somehow accidentally made it way bigger than it needed to be.

However, this is sadly all I can really show at the moment in terms of actual content we've made.
What does this mean now?
I do want to again apologise for the lack of actual content, but this project is something we like to work on in our spare time, and not something we really devote ourselves to working on constantly.
This is mainly because it isn't a very big project, it is going to consist of an overworld section, and a single fight.
Just because it's a small project, doesn't mean we don't have some cool things planned for it though.
As well as the fact that things are rolling a bit smoother now, we should hopefully be able to give you some more regular news on it.
I'm going to aim to get another devlog out for next month, although that doesn't mean I'm going to go completely silent on this page.
Sneek peeks and other little cool announcements are going to be shown, so keep your eyes out.
I hope you all enjoyed this little devlog, and aren't too let down about it.
Thank you for reading!
(I swear to god I had to rewrite the content section about 3 times because it kept deleting itself.)
