"well, this stinks" - 2025 fanon sans

sorry about this but project jon is just kind of a disaster and it was already doomed from the start

i'll go explain

Explanation

1 - Explosions

explosions came up with the entire idea for project jon, but then he later got exposed for doing a lot of bad stuff i can't say here on scratch

i asked him for permission to work on the game by myself and he allowed me, although a little aggressively

explosions had another vision for the game in mind so that lead to the next point

2 - Lack of Direction

development for project jon went pretty well until the prerelease was finished. i was really unhappy with the game's art, gameplay and lore, so i kept the prerelease public and started working on project jon as another project.

after making a few changes, i had to change the characters' mechanics again because it still didn't feel very fun to play, and all of that combined with my unhappiness with the rest of the game has led me to restart. but wait, isn't this game supposed to just be absolutely dead for good?

3: New Project?

i don't feel good just completely canning a game explosions, nico and other people in the robloxian group were involved in and were anticipating the release of, so i plan on making a new game with some of the project jon characters and HEAVILY rewritten lore

my idea is a game where you play as a contractee that goes down an elevator to research a mysterious underground full of freaks like the project jon characters and some new ones, all trying to stop you

if you get caught, you don't canonically die, but get rescued back up and need to try again as the research didn't save

since making art of rooms is not my strong suite, the office will have the most detail and the cameras will just be green static, with the characters showing up with green static on them as well

keep in mind all that is just a small concept and it is very likely to change

Conclusion

TL;DR game development was a mess, kept changing stuff because i was unhappy, gave up, new game with project jon characters planned

i might make a version of project jon with some of the reworked enemies but that's really only if there's enough demand
