I have a quick question for you all. Season 2 is right on the horizon. There is a new technique I implemented into the new map to save on performance since the map is way bigger than the Desert map. This new system integrates all of the lighting into the textures, instead of your PC having to render lighting in real-time. This really helps performance increase drastically, but there is a catch. The game’s file size is WAY bigger. Instead of taking up barely 100mb, it now takes up more than 1GB. My question is, should I use this new method, or should I stick to using the old method, to save on file size?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that with this new file size is when I only apply the technique to the new season 2 map ONLY. If i were to implement this to all maps it will be even BIGGER than 1GB.
I am going to release Season 2 later today without this technique to give people time to vote without effecting the release date of the update.
