Also, I am wondering exactly where the timeline is in the movie in correlation with the games, books, etc.

Like for example, Vanessa is in this movie but she doesn't appear in the games until Security Breach. If I remember correctly , Vanessa becomes who she is because of Glitchtrap, which is years after the killings from the diner.

She hasn't appeared in ANY of the movie trailers nor the posters but she was possessed by Charlotte Emily, who was the first victim. She's the reason why Bonnie, Chica, Freddy, and Foxy are "possessed" to begin with, meanwhile, she has not once been mentioned. Technically, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and Freddy shouldn't be present since the puppet hasn't appeared.

There is so much story within the FNAF series, why add random characters when you can use already existing characters?
