starting this devlog with stuff we did between the last update and the first week of june
while waiting on missing sprites, we worked on additional features that were not necessary, but still nice to have. most of these features are small, but there's two that i'd consider cool enough to be shown
the first cool feature is borders

i've wanted to implement borders for the longest time but i kept failing trying to figure out a reliable system that allowed me to have them. i'm happy this was sorted out because God Damn they look good
this specific border was made by residentkutty, with some edits done by Zalcuzidk
and the second cool feature is achievements

achievements is something i procrastinated since ever, until i was told to lock the fuck in by my friends
i'm glad the achievements exist now. they're a great way to encourage replays, while also making it easier to find secrets due to its descriptions (which is funny because i hid them for this gif)
i also added a notification for when you unlock an achievement
don't worry about this ruining immersion because i made them happen on the title screen only
and now, the current state of the game
for the demo to be considered done, 8 more sprites need to be made (two of them are ambitious animations)
we're also missing dialogue changes that happen on your second playthrough
but that's pretty much it
do not expect a release this month. with deltarune chapter 5 releasing in 9 days, the whole team will go on a break
