r0x update on the horizon...


Hello there peeps! Been quite a while since I updated this page, but I’m writing to notify any followers we have that we’re about to launch a new game on Game Jolt’s marketplace, and then we’ll be returning to r0x for a BIG update.

We’ve exhibited r0x at events quite a few times now and have identified areas that really need fixing (optional HUD around the player ship, improved options, better multiplayer), and other areas that could be enhanced (more enemy types, proper transitions between waves, more varied stages and graphics, more everything).

The main reason for this is because we’ve got an opportunity to get the game on Steam and PS4, but we’ll need to pay for a new soundtrack (without uncleared samples) so we need to make it worthy of a budget price tag (~$5). The version here will remain free (and possibly some minor enhancements will even transition across), but our main focus will be on the new, improved version of the game.

So hang tight! More news soon :)

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

2d lighting experiment

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
