RAIDEN HAKUSAN! GO!

So after 72 hours of labor, lost sleep, headache and too little sushi, my entry for the IVG Jam - and the GMC Jam which happened to run in parallell - is complete!

RAIDEN HAKUSAN is an endless arena shooter vaguely set in Japan (using side characters from the Daemon Detective franchise) where you fend off a stream of lesser daemons. Instead of being round-based, the game is event-based: every once in a while, something terrible happens to spice the game up a bit and make sure you’ll never grow bored. Keep your eyes peeled for those power-ups and make sure to grab every heart you can get!

I’m surprised how nice-looking the game is considering how little time I ended up having to spend on the graphics, but I guess it’s mainly a matter about consistency, something that’s a lot easier to do with a NES-styled game than with something using full-color sprites or photographed textures.

The game has 4 characters with different attack patterns, being good in some situations and bad in others - in order to get that elusive no.1 spot on the highscore list, you’ll need to master them all and find out which one you’re the best with.

If you still haven’t gotten persuaded, have a look at the trailer!

Have fun playing it, and don’t forget to vote!
