Hello everyone. Sorry for the lack of dev logs. I've decided to take a longer break from the project, but I'm happy to announce that the project is still being worked on. I recently got back to work several days ago and while I don't have much to share due to spoilers, I've been making great progress with the game. I've been working on the story stuff recently and I've finally thought of something I'm actually proud of compared to my other projects. In this dev log, I'm going to be going over some stuff I've might have already talked about and how the game is going to work.
First thing I want to mention is regarding the previous dev log. I mentioned before that I was experimenting with shading the models made by CreatorOfPony. It was supposed to mimic the art style of Friendship is Magic without the need of learning another animation program. After many attempts, I sadly couldn't get it working properly in Blender. It just doesn't render correctly. Looking back, it probably wouldn't have looked that great anyway. So I'm going with a slight change of plan. It will just be 3D Models with normal shading during the animation process. If I'm able to at all, I can find someone with some 2D animation skills to replicate the art style, but until it's possible, don't expect it to be entirely accurate.
Now considering how this is going to be a remake, I gotta talk about how everything is going to work. I'm just going to go over what I've already said here for those who haven't seen the reveal trailer and some extra things I haven't said yet.
The games will function like old flash games instead of walking to the right several times.
The kill scenes will be fully animated instead of flashing pictures. (said animations are currently being worked on)
The game is going to have a completely different story (It will also focus more on it).
There will be bonus content.
And that's about all I have to say right now. This will most likely be the last update for a while. Like I said, I can't really share too much without spoiling the final product. The next dev log is going to be the release date, but that won't be until later this year.
Thanks for reading.
