Back in 2018-2019, a mysterious teaser appeared on TheCyVap’s YouTube channel (known in the community as 1ianMario). The video began with scrolling blue code, glitched out, and suddenly revealed an island scene with Sonic and Knuckles. Sonic delivered a few lines of dialogue, and then the iconic Deltarune “Rude Buster” theme kicked in as Sonic tried to attack Knuckles. After about a minute of attacks, the screen cut to the title card:

“Tales on Emerset Island, Coming soon…ish.”

The game, also known as FNaSTale, was intended as a crossover-inspired fangame mixing elements of Sonic the Hedgehog and Undertale back in 2015-2016, then as I said, in 2018-2019 I remember exactly that teaser as the image you're seeing in this post is just a recreation of how/what the battle looked like. It was rumored to be part of Team Cyantix’s creative projects, carrying the same quirky, experimental energy seen in the Five Nights at Sonic’s series. Sadly, the project never saw a release and the teaser video has since been lost, making it a piece of FNaS fangame lost media.

Only scattered traces remain today but is only abour the cancelled Remake of FNaSTale sprite sheets, bits of OST, and mentions across fandom wikis and GameJolt posts. The full teaser, however, has yet to resurface as the video is never found. I hope I'm not the only one who remember this.

Do you remember seeing Tales on Emerset Island back then? Did you save the teaser or know someone who might have it?

If so, share it with the community, it would be a huge find for both Sonic, Undertale and FNaS fans alike!

Making character movement and the HUD took way longer than I thought doing that in Pocket Code for Sonic 3 Mobile back when I started, it was a huge challenge without a PC.

My least favorite part is ofc, finding bugs that ruins my experience. It can be so frustrating when the #Sonic physics don't behave or I find a glitch sprite asset but solving them is the only way to get that smooth gameplay. #Devruary #Sonic #SonicJ

For my current game, I've moved from Pocket Code to GameMaker Studio. It was a great place to start on my phone, but GMS gives me the power I need to really nail those #Sonic physics and speed thanks to help from others Devs too. #Devruary

(SPOILER IN ARTICLE, ig.)

Anyways, i hope you like it

Honestly I didn't have a time saving tool, I build everything from scratch. It’s more work, but it’s the best way to make sure my #Sonic physics feel just right. #Devruary

amy looks so cute

My favorite part of gamedev is playing them. Nothing beats the feeling of finally testing a level and seeing the #Sonic physics click into place. Specially with Sonic J by @jtn00b , It makes the work worth it! Thanks Jean!

Bad habits? None yet! 🌀 Starting on Pocket Code meant I was always learning. I’m focused on forming good habits like staying consistent and taking feedback rather than looking back. Every line of code is still a new lesson! #Sonic #Devruary #SEGA
