Hey all! Andrew/Nocturnum/Nocturna here.
Didn’t think I’d have to do another one of these, however, I was left feeling unsatisfied with the last update. So with this update, I’m hoping that feeling goes away. In this post, I’d like to explain some certain things, tell you all a few release dates, and let you know how the game is coming along. Let’s get into it!
So, there has been a huge discussion on why we put the term “Official” in our gamepage title. It has stirred a lot of controversies, and there are even some community members angry about it. Let me get this out of the way: Legally you cannot own a fangame. HOWEVER, with Anart's involvement with this project, I think it’s safe to say that this is the legit FNaTI. We put Official in the game's title to let people know that this is THE FNaTI. Unfortunately, there are tons of FNaTI fangames out there and they have caused tons of misconceptions, such as people thinking PNM (the dev) owns FNaTI. While he is an awesome dev and we might be working on a project with him in the far future, he does not own FNaTI, and his work is a fangame of a fangame. Hopefully, this clears that up.
Now, how is the game coming along? It’s coming great. We are finishing up one last thing for the caverns and hopefully, it’ll all be done before the 30th (Who knows, if we get this all done super early we might release the game early).
Currently, we have a few things on the release table for you all:
-October 30th (or earlier): FNaTI full release.
-October 31st: I’ll be on the “Behind the Computer” podcast. More info on that in the future.
-November 3rd: FNaTI soundtrack released. Will be up for purchase on Bandcamp for 7 dollars (yes that is legal). We’re hoping to release a YouTube version with some B side tracks later on for free.
-November 9th (or earlier): [REDACTED] Release.
-December 1st: Special release planned.
My team has jokingly called this year “The year of FNaTI” and honestly with that release schedule, they aren’t wrong. Hopefully, you all are looking forward to that.
What’s this? I have nothing to show for the devlog? Oof. Well with that I have to end the devlog here. Bye!
