So apparently a lot of people thought it was OK to make fangames of FNAC using the assets from the game.Games like simulator fan-games, FNAFB fan-games, and quiz fan-games.Games that don’t interfere with the plot in FNAC, but still use basically all the images from FNAC.
My opinion on this is the same as it always has been with all other games. No game may use any of the images that I have made. If you make the images yourself you may use Candy The Cat in your game (as long as the game doesn’t interfere with the plot of FNAC), but you may not use any of the other characters from the FNAC series unless you have gotten permission from me.
If you want to use Candy The Cat in your game, and you provide the images, you do not have to ask me for permission, simply credit me in the game-page.If you want to use any other (or all) of the characters from the FNAC series, then you have to ask for permission first.
When I say the games can’t interfere with the plot in the FNAC series, I mean primarily that the game can’t build anything to the plot, meaning no prequels or sequels.Nor can the game reference to any plot-specific occurences/events in the FNAC series.
What you CAN do however, if you want to make references to FNAC in your fan-game, you are allowed to:Mention/Reference the Candy’s Burgers & Fries restaurant.Mention/Reference Candy The Cat (for example: having the phone-guy mention a blue cat character with a red tie).Having a drawing/recreation of Candy in your location.
References don’t require my permission. But if you are unsure whether your reference is or isn’t “within the rules” then it’s OK to ask me (Message YouTube (not comment), Twitter, Reddit, Tumblr)
I’m sorry, but I have to be strict around this.
