Hello everyone, @Harshmallow here. I just wanted to offer an update on how things were going. I mentioned previously that the game was not going to hit its originally-slated April release, and I am here to reaffirm that; releasing the demo took a lot out of us, and we still have not fully gotten back into the swing of things after the general fallout that has occurred since (especially with the holidays and real life in tow.)
I am here to say q.e.d. is definitely not cancelled. I understand I have a reputation for cancelling projects, and this is not going to be one of those - especially with around eight other people on board at this point. With that being said, I'm giving it a firm "when it's done" release date, under the general pretense that it will most likely still be within the year. Forcing ourselves to commit to crunch is just going to make the end result worse, when we are developing a freeware game as art-for-art's-sake.
I want to be fully transparent and state that the demo (and a little past it) are essentially what is currently done in regards to playable, vertical slices of the final product. However, the entire thing is essentially planned out from start to finish minus a few small details, and when it is going, production is going very smoothly. The scope of this game is much larger, more polished, and more distilled in essence than the first three games, and we're adults now, with adult responsibilities - and some of us have schooling or full-time careers to manage in comparison to the lackadaisical development cycle enjoyed by the original trilogy.
So, yeah - that is basically all. We will have more to show when we're ready, and hopefully it will be worth your while.
