Regarding the Current State of DUSTTRUST

Hello! I just want to clear up a few things regarding what is going on with all these Dusttrust changes as of recent. There has been a lot of blaming on who is right and wrong in all of this which has come uncalled for, so I want to clear that all up.

Let's get into it!

Ownership

It's honestly become a yearly running gag at this point. One year it's an individual, next it's a group of people.

As of late I've decided to step back entirely on anything relating to Dusttrust, or Dust AUs in general. In return I decided to hand over the ownership of the project to a great friend of mine who is also known well in the Dusttrust community, that being @DillyWolf .

"Why this person?" "Why not give it to Ari?"
I have a handful of reasons as to why, which I'll copy and paste over from a comment I responded to asking the same questions.

And lastly my own personal reasons as to why:

The situation with Ari's Pre-Leak / Underswap : Thanatos

As of recent Ari's Pre-Leak (I will now refer to it as Underswap: Thanatos) has gone under a lot of changes that people have taken in very interesting ways.

A lot of the decisions on the U:T team were extremely abrupt and were rarely discussed leading to a lot of arguments over what people wanted. One of those things was the full game.

Keep in mind, stuff like Papyrus Encounter were already in the works before the decision was made. It was somewhat the reason as to why the decision to go big was made, actually. Ari wanted to expand on the rest of the story which is fine, but it caused the project to become over-ambitious and problematic to work on.

The whole changing process was kickstarted when I voiced these opinions in the public server, where Ari agreed with what I said.

No one has ever forced her or told her to make the decision, it was just the general unrest of "is this even possible now" causing a handful of debates and arguments within the team.

From here, Ari scrapped the full game and a great handful of people instantly started berating the team behind U:t for this. I'm looking at Ari's server specifically, but some other groups of people are guilty for this as well. It was instantly "this is the teams fault for pressuring her into this".

And this is the issue.

It's not what's right for someone or something in this community, it's what people demand for and want. If they don't get that then it is always someone's fault for that in their eyes. No respect or reasonable responses. That's what causes these types of shitshows and is the bulk of the reason as to why I've left the project entirely.

The Future of Canon DUSTTRUST

Dilly has made a statement on gamejolt regarding this already so I'd heavily advise checking that out.

As for U:T that has become more of its own thing whilst keeping the beats of pre-leak. You can see a statement regarding it here, along with what she plans for Dusttrust:

As for me? That's it. I've said what I've wanted to say and I'm taking my departure from Dusttrust. I've seen it all, from the original pre-leak to now. It's always been the same things and it's finally clicked in my head that this is no longer worth it.

I will continue to support Dilly, Ari and any of the team members with what they do from this point! I wish you guys the best of luck and I'll see you all around.
