TL;DR: I'm still working on a game, however it will no longer be Five Nights with Thug Hunters 2.
This might seem a little out of left field, but I thought I should let people know what’s been happening behind the scenes. For a while now, I’ve been working on Five Nights with Thug Hunters 2, a game I’ve tried to make multiple times since the release of the original. For most of that time, I never had a clear vision of what I wanted it to be, mostly just random one-off ideas and scattered concepts. This time around, however, I finally managed to come up with a clear vision for what I wanted the game to be.
Despite some solid work being done, part of me has felt off about continuing the project in its current form for a few reasons:
The passing of LoveAndLightTV (Yes King), who I had planned to include in the game, made me step back and reconsider whether I’m comfortable using the likeness of real people in a project like this.
I started to feel like a lot of genuinely strong ideas were being funneled into something that doesn’t really do them justice.
The original game was very much a product of its time, and I don’t think I can properly bring that concept into a modern context without it feeling forced or out of place.
Because of all this, I’ve decided to move away from the Thug Hunters concept. However, that doesn’t mean I'm throwing everything away. I’m still actively developing a game, just under a different identity, one that better fits the ideas and direction I want to pursue.
I’ll have more to share about that when the time is right.
