Truth is I wouldn’t consider myself a real game developer. I’m just a dabbler if anything and more of a fan of games than someone who is blessed with “the gift” to make sizzling innovative content.
That said, Gutter-delve was a labor of love. So much in fact I created “rekt edition” just to tie up loose ends.
If you’re curious here are the additions…..
-Sound-track was re-arranged somewhat.
-“Little bugs” were rectified. Aka,all the statues in the old chapel now face inward (the one in the bottom right corner used to face outward toward the wall) and the “broken shades” in the last area that did not trigger actual battles were removed.
-Additional notes and books were added througout the environments to fill people in more on the game’s mythos and what is going on.
-Dialogue got another comb over with a slew of edits and changes. I’m sure the most astute grammar nazi will still find errors but I’m hoping the narrative at the very least is more digestible now.
-The “true ending” actually no longer leaves on a cliff-hanger and features an additional boss battle that adds to Liam’s story.
-Ben is once again the narrator at the beginning of the game.
-A few more npcs were added in the subway,I guess that bears mentioning.
Welp, that’s it. Everything else is as it is both for better and worse! In future games I’ll probably try and balance combat and make it more strategic (Y’know where it’s actually a challenge!) and perhaps learn new scripts to help make my games more lively. (That is if I can be bothered to make anything else or find the time to do so!)
I apologize if I seemed distant but stuff came up and I recall getting into arguments that were a tad too social-jutice oriented for my liking. I mean when I get told I’m “treating my female characters like sluts” for how I draw them (Their fictional creations for crying out loud, not real people!) and told women talking in kitchens is a metaphor for sexism those indviduals aren’t going to get me to come around to their ludicrous way of thinking no matter how hard they try!
Anyway,I consider Gutter-delve “finished”. Regardless how many people like it or loathe it I feel as if a major burden has been lifted from my shoulders.
For those of you who encouraged me & gave me constructive criticism about the game itself I really appreciate it. For those who merely tried to character assassinate me? Welp, hatehs gonna hate,I ain’t gonna change!
